CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF WROUGHT IRON FURNITURE

All the wrought iron furniture is Kalgarded and Powder coated, which is a durable coating process. The wrought iron furniture is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Should the wrought iron furniture be required for use at coastal areas, it will need to be Zinc coated. This must be specified upon ordering your furniture. There is a charge for this process, but it will give you peace of mind that your furniture will last at the coast.

When cleaning wrought iron furniture, use a wet or damp cloth. Do not use any cleaning agents or abrasive methods, such as steel wool, brillo pads or sand paper.

If you should scratch your wrought iron furniture and need to touch it up. Use PLASCON'S Product POLYCELL - END RUST and paint over with a black water based paint.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF SLATE TABLE TOPS

The surfaces of the slate tables are treated with a Lacquer, to protect the slate against normal everyday wear and tear. The slate is as hardwearing and resistant as a wooden surface or a Marble or Travertine surface. It will obviously be damaged if scratched with a sharp instrument such as a knife or a nail.

Slate is heat resistant and can withstand a hot plate, pot or casserole dish being placed on it, but not if there is HOT OIL dripping off the lip. In days of old, cobblers even used slate as a support to repair shoes on. A glass with ice may leave a ring, the same as on a wooden surface, but this will disappear after a while.

When cleaning the slate surface, do not use any abrasive methods such as steel wool, sand paper, rubbing compound, chisels etc. Just treat it like any normal furniture surface using a wet cloth or furniture polish. In the event that a small layer of slate peels off, the raw surface can be treated with a furniture polish like "Pledge" or something similar. If larger areas are affected, a clear stone sealer can be obtained from any good Hardware Store.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF RECONSTITUTED SANDSTONE AND TERRAZZO TABLE TOPS

The surfaces of the reconstituted slate tables are treated with a Lacquer, to protect the slate against normal everyday wear and tear.

When cleaning the reconstituted sandstone and terrazzo surface, do not use any abrasive methods such as steel wool, sand paper, rubbing compound, chisels etc. Use a damp or wet cloth to remove any marks. The tops can be treated with Cobra Floor wax. Use a non-abrasive cloth and apply sparingly and rub the wax onto the table tops.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF MARBLE AND GRANITE TABLE TOPS

The surfaces of the marble and granite tops are polished. Marble is a natural product and can be stained if not cleaned immediately. When cleaning the tops do not use any abrasive methods such as steel wool, sand paper, rubbing compound, chisels etc. Use a damp or wet cloth to remove any marks. The tops can be treated with Cobra Floor Wax. Use a non-abrasive cloth and apply sparingly and rub the wax onto the table tops.
